A brief history so far ...

1991: Two Australian Chartered Accountants first meet in Sydney – Peter Frampton (not the famous musician) and Mark Robilliard.

1992-3: Peter and Mark decided to ‘fix’ accounting education. They had both struggled with it at university and figured that there  had to be a better way. There was. Concepts and materials were developed and some pilots done on unsuspecting clients who loved it.

1993-7: Hiatus. Focused elsewhere. Mark continues some ad hoc testing of the materials.

1998: Peter resurrects project and incepts Radical Accounting School in Cape Town. Starts experimenting on unsuspecting students and small business owners.

2000: Carmen Mettler, local accounting lecturer and author, joins Peter in Cape Town. Name changed to Accounting Comes Alive, courtesy of Peter's wife who said, "Tell it like it is... that's what you do!".

2001-3: South African region now functioning as a business. Peter emigrates to Washington DC to set up the USA market. ACA goes global!

2004: Mark re-joins Peter in ACA International and focuses on IP development and systems refinement. Asia Pacific business commences.

2004-9: Mark and Peter continue to develop and refine products. Color Accounting Framework™ and education system and product line developed with patents pending. Commenced providing Color Accounting system to other financial trainers. UK and Europe businesses commence.

2010: Productization in full swing for both live training and on-line (self-study, electronic delivery). First 12-hour webinar delivered over three days - students rejoice. We adopt a zebra. First US patent awarded for Color Accounting™.

Today, after more than 10 years of patient research and development the 'better way' is now in place.  It took that long to achieve simplicity without compromising on academic integrity. Accounting Comes Alive products based on the Color Accounting™ learning system are now mass-produced.
